Felicity Gates

  • Felicity Gates is Chairman of Castlebridge’s Strategy and Operating Committee and is based in Sydney.
  • She was previously Co-Head and Partner of CII, based in New York.
  • Felicity has been involved in infrastructure investing and financing since the late 1980s. 
  • In 1994, she joined NSW State Super (a large Australian pension fund) to establish their infrastructure investment portfolio through direct investments and funds. State Super’s management team subsequently became Deutsche Asset Management’s RREEF Infrastructure.
  • Felicity managed State Super’s involvement in several landmark transactions in Australia, including the privatization and subsequent IPO of United Energy (electricity distributor) and the privatization of Melbourne airport.
  • She also built the Australian based infrastructure funds management business and launched the European and North American businesses of RREEF Infrastructure
  • Felicity has represented CIP on the boards of Vantage Airport Group, Kelda, Itínere and DP World Australia.
  • She has also has held several directorship positions on various infrastructure companies and industry bodies.
  • She holds a B.Sc. with First Class Honours in Mathematics from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.

 

 

Ghislain Gauthier

  • Ghislain Gauthier is Chief Investment Officer of Castlebridge and is based in Montreal.
  • He was previously Partner and CIO of CII.
  • Ghislain has been involved in infrastructure investing and financing since the mid 1990s. He joined CII in 2010 from Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDP) where he built a $6 billion portfolio of 19 investments in airports, pipelines, power, oil & gas, water and transport. He also developed expertise in other core infrastructure sectors including ports and toll roads with both strategic and financial investors.
  • Ghislain managed CDP’s infrastructure portfolio, served as President of the Investment Committee as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Private Equity Group. He has held several directorships representing CDP and was instrumental in developing the investment programme in infrastructure and energy at CDP.
  • Some of Ghislain’s notable investments include Kéolis (France - public transport), BAA (UK - airports), Trencap (Canada - energy distribution) and Enbridge Energy Partners (USA - pipelines).
  • Ghislain represented CIP on the boards of Vantage Airport Group and Itínere.
  • He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Université du Québec in Canada and is a registered CFA.

 

 

JG Duthie-Jackson

  • JG Duthie-Jackson is based in Castlebridge’s London office.
  • Previously JG was a Partner and Head of Europe for CII.
  • Since joining CII as a founding partner in 2007, JG was responsible for the £5.5 billion acquisition of Kelda plc, owner of Yorkshire Water, and was involved in the acquisition and management of CIP’s other investments, including Vantage Airport Group and DP World Australia.
  • JG has been involved in infrastructure since the mid-1990s.   He has over 19 years of advisory and investment management experience.  He brings particular expertise in efficiently financing such infrastructure transactions through coordination and utilization of corporate banking, structured finance and leverage products.  He joined Citi in 2000 as a result of the acquisition of Schroders plc.
  • Prior to joining CII, he worked in European Infrastructure and Corporate Securitisation within Citi’s Market & Banking Division. As a leader in the Fixed Income team, he worked on numerous high profile infrastructure transactions including Grupo Ferrovial’s $32 billion buyout of BAA, Terra Firma’s buyout of East Surrey Holdings and the $6 billion debt restructuring for Land Securities.
  • JG was responsible for the leveraged financing model for UK regulated water companies and was involved in the acquisition of Hyder and the subsequent $4 billion refinancing and sale of its subsidiary, Welsh Water; the $7 billion refinancing of Anglian Water and the $6 billion acquisition and refinancing of Southern Water.
  • JG represented CIP on the boards of Kelda, Vantage Airport Group and Itínere.  He also served as an Alternate Director on DP World Australia. 
  • He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and has a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of York.

 

 

Colin Campbell

  • Colin Campbell is based in Castlebridge’s London office.
  • Previously he was a Partner and Head of Asia Pacific for CII and was based in Sydney from 2011-2013.
  • Colin has been involved in infrastructure for more than 20 years.  Before he joined CII in 2007 he had been a managing director in Citigroup’s Global Banking business and helped set up specialised infrastructure sector coverage and execution within Citigroup. He advised infrastructure clients and governments on M&A and the structuring of privatisations as well as on capital markets and private fundraising.
  • Colin played a part in a number of notable transactions including the takeover of BAA, the IPO of Cintra, the part-privatisation of NATS, the formation of Hochtief AirPort Capital, the sale of NCP and the takeover of P&O.  He advised central or local governments on the privatisation of airports in countries which include Argentina, Australia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy and the UK.
  • Prior to joining Citigroup in 2000, Colin worked for 7 years at UBS in the transportation group.  Before then he had been a junior consultant at Price Waterhouse where he worked on projects for regional electricity companies stemming from their privatization.  He began his career in 1985 in the nuclear industry as a student engineer at GEC Energy Systems.
  • Colin represented CIP on the boards of Kelda, Itínere, Vantage Airport Group and DP World Australia.
  • Colin holds MBAs from Cranfield University and ESC Lyon as well as a BA and MA in engineering and management studies from the University of Cambridge.
